PRODUCT CONDITION & TRANSPARENCY GUIDE

A2B sells new, pre-owned and sometimes one-of-a-kind finds. Different products arrive with different histories, so clear information matters.

Our approach is simple: show you what matters before you buy, not leave you to discover it afterwards.

The discovery can be unpredictable.
The information shouldn't be.

Condition is one part of the picture. Where relevant, A2B also uses information about imperfections, what is included and functional testing to give you a clearer view of the individual product.

Our condition labels

CONDITION	WHAT IT MEANS AT A2B
New	A new item that has not been previously owned or used as a pre-owned product. The product page will provide any other relevant information.
New with tags	A new item supplied with its original retail tags still attached where tags are relevant to the product.
New without tags	A new, unused item that does not have its original retail tags attached. Packaging or presentation may vary and will be described where relevant.
Pre-owned - Excellent	Previously owned, with very little visible evidence of use. It may show minor signs consistent with previous ownership, but overall presents exceptionally well.
Pre-owned - Very Good	Previously owned and well presented, with light or moderate signs of use. Any relevant wear or imperfections we identify will be described.
Pre-owned - Good	Previously owned with more noticeable signs of use, age or wear, while remaining suitable for sale in the condition described. Relevant imperfections will be made clear.

These labels are a practical A2B guide, not a promise that a pre-owned item is flawless. We assess condition in context, taking account of the type of product and the information reasonably available to us.

Imperfections

If we identify a scratch, mark, wear, damage, missing detail or other imperfection that we believe matters to the buying decision, we aim to tell you.

For pre-owned products, ordinary evidence of age or previous use can be expected. What matters is that relevant condition information is communicated clearly rather than hidden.

What's included

Where it matters, the product page can tell you what comes with the item.

This may include accessories, packaging, cases, cables, manuals, dust bags, documentation or other components. If something customers might reasonably expect is not included and we know that, we aim to make it clear.

Always use the individual product page as the guide to what is included with that particular find.

Testing

Some products need functional testing. Others do not.

Where testing is relevant, A2B uses the following statuses:

Fully tested - working as expected

The relevant functions we reasonably tested operated as expected at the time of testing.

Partially tested - see testing notes

Some functions have been checked, but the product has not been fully tested. The testing notes should explain what was and was not established.

Not tested

The item has not been functionally tested by A2B. This status is not used to imply that the item works.

Testing information only appears where it is relevant to the type of product.

Photography matters

For individual pre-owned and one-of-a-kind finds, photography is an important part of understanding the item.

We aim to present products clearly and use additional images where condition or imperfections need to be seen.

Images should be considered alongside the written condition information and product description.

For new or replenishable products, presentation may differ depending on the product and the imagery available.

Condition in context

A vintage object, a pair of pre-owned shoes and a modern electronic device cannot sensibly be judged in exactly the same way.

A2B assesses products in the context of what they are. Age, materials, intended use and previous ownership can all affect what reasonable condition looks like.
